Version History
Save and restore previous versions of your website
# Version History
Version History automatically saves snapshots of your website as you edit, allowing you to restore any previous version with one click.
## How It Works
Version snapshots are created automatically:
- When you exit Edit Mode (auto-save)
- When you publish your website
Each snapshot contains:
- All content and text
- Design customizations (colors, fonts, layout)
- Section arrangement
- Images and visual assets
Accessing Version History
- Open your website in the preview editor
- Click the customization panel (paintbrush icon)
- Select the History tab
- Browse your saved versions
Restoring a Version
To restore a previous version:
- Find the version you want in the History tab
- Click the Restore button
- Your current state is automatically saved before restoring
- The previous version is loaded into the editor
Note: Restoring a version doesn't delete any versions. Your current state is saved as a new version before the restore, so you can always go back.
What Gets Saved
| Included | Not Included |
|---|---|
| All text content | Analytics data |
| Color and font settings | Lead/contact data |
| Section order and layout | Invoice data |
| Hero and product images | External integrations |
| SEO settings | Payment settings |
## Undo/Redo vs Version History
Deiza has two levels of history:
### Undo/Redo (All Plans)
- Quick corrections while editing
- Session-based (lost on refresh)
- Use the undo/redo buttons in the toolbar
### Version History
- Persistent snapshots saved automatically when you exit edit mode
- Available in the History tab of the customization panel
- Restore entire website states with one click
Best Practices
- Save before major changes: Click Save before making big edits
- Use descriptive section names: Makes it easier to identify versions
- Regular saves: Save periodically during editing sessions
- Test before publishing: Use version history to safely experiment
Plan Availability
Version History is available on the Grow and Scale plans. Users on the Starter plan can upgrade to unlock this feature.
